Terrific question!
Chunes (n) are tunes that are so feelgood as to become chunes. My boyfriend and his friends use this word almost religiously to describe one hit wonders-type, so bad they're good songs. He has a playlist on his iPod called Now that's what I call Chunes. I'm going to appropriate his word to anything I feel like listening to at the moment.
This first tune, however, is chunes at its finest. Lean on Me by Club Nouveau.
