Simple Furoshiki Bag

I saw this post over at annekata, and decided it was just what I needed to carry my stuff out in today. Her bag is really cute, but the way it's made you can't rummage around in it that easily. So I played around with a vintage scarf I got a while back at a yard sale, and came up with this:

It's not the greatest picture (it's me fixing something on my sister's Wall-O-Green Day) but you get the picture. It's surprisingly roomy.

Rosie and The Swan

I watched two hours of America's Next Top Model today. 'Twas fabuleux.

Monday, May 24

Why is the P key on my keyboard dirtier than all the others?

An eternal mystery.

In other news, today is the most productive day I've had in ages! All I need to do is write a to-do list and then I'm golden for the rest of the day. I got up this morning and exercised (for the first time in I can't remember how long.) then finished sewing two little somethings I've been working on. (Although the one is still in need of some flair. I trust that the right detail will present itself to me soon enough.)

My Honey is coming over tomorrow for Dinner, so I sorely need to do some cleaning. So many of my belongings are still splayed out across my bedroom floor, having been there since I moved back home from school. Over a week ago.

A to-do list shall solve my inability to work up the gumption to get any real cleaning done!

Off to the races,

insomnia and babies

I am awake. Not by choice, mind you; sleep would be fantastic.

But I am afraid sleep is just not in the cards right now.

I don't know what it was that did it. I watched Trainspotting before bed, and that didn't exactly soothe me to sleep. I am still puzzled as to why that movie was classified as a comedy. There's a DEAD BABY, for crying out loud. A dead baby.

Speaking of which (babies, not dead ones) I really REALLY want to see Babies. It's not playing at all theaters, though, and the closest one to me is an hour away. Le sigh.

Until then, the best I can do is watch videos on YouTube of babies and kittens.

Saturday, May 22

I am a cowgirl today.

With a hat of my dad's and a vintage scarf.
(Those are to-do lists behind me.)

An exciting morning!

I'm putting my first plush up for sale on Etsy today! It's very exciting and I'm nervous at the same time. Hopefully it will turn out well.

If anyone's actually reading this, check me out.

In other news, my June/July BUST came in the mail today. And guess who's on the cover! Zooey Deschanel, my fave. Although this is the first sentence of the article about her, which made me laugh:

If you ask just about anyone with a pulse who her number one celebrity girl crush is, chances are she will name Zooey Deschanel.

How true.

Whelp, I'm off to etsy to make my listing. Catch ya later,

Friday, May 21

Oh, hooray, hooray!

I just registered to sell on Etsy. There was a lot to fill out, though, and I'm still not a hundred percent sure what I'm doing. I suppose I'll learn as I go along.

I should be listing my first item tomorrow, since I made a little friend earlier tonight! He wears either goggles, eyeglasses, or a superhero mask. I can not tell.

Pictures tomorrow.

Sweet Dreams,

The Beginning of Something Extraordinary

Well. I suppose this writing of posts will become more fluid over time. At the moment, I feel that I must, in a few short sentences, sum up the essence of what I am and what I intend this blog to be. I barely know where to begin.

Who am I? At the moment I'm a girl sitting on the floor of her bedroom listening to her sister play Let it Be on her keyboard in another room and trying to think of something compelling to write. I just finished my sophomore year at McDaniel College, where I'm an English major with Education and German minors. I just set up my (hopefully) budding Etsy, but have no items yet to fill its electronic shelves.

I must admit: my main impetus for starting this blog is selfish. I want people (strangers, even!) to listen to my silly ramblings. And who can blame me? I'm a narcissistic teenager who has her whole life ahead of her. My world revolves around me.

A second confession: I'm terrible at journals. I've never managed to keep one longer than a few weeks. (Excepting, of course, the year I was in fourth grade and kept a dutiful chronicle of my crush, a charming boy who wore his boy scout uniform in his yearbook picture. I was smitten.) So for all I know I'll post ferociously for a few weeks, only to find my enthusiasm petering out before I say anything noteworthy.

Ah, well. Who knows?

Until next time,
